Forgotten paths

With his artistic background rooted in traditional Chinese painting, Wang Chuan has navigated the twists and turns of life’s path with the tip of his paintbrush. He has moved from the melancholy of youth to the detachment of geometric abstraction. His brushstrokes have ranged from hard, wide swipes to trembling gossamer strokes. He has shifted from surrealistic spaces which hijack the imagination to the easy dance of ink across two dimensional white surfaces. He set sail in his exploration of foreign styles, only to end up revisiting the accumulated heritage of his own traditions. His name is forever linked with “wounds”. When the last fading light of sunset blushes across her face, will his fluttering brushstrokes still recall that little winding path? And so, farewell.
